Project promoting cognitive well-being in the elderly

The project aims to identify factors that play a crucial role in preserving cognitive functions and a good quality of life in the elderly population.
Coordinated by the University of Urbino and Dr. Rosazza, in collaboration with the Smartfood programme of the European Institute of Oncology (IEO) in Milan, the project aims to gather volunteers over 65 years of age to investigate the role of certain cognitive and behavioural factors (including diet, the level of cognitive activity maintained throughout life in terms of schooling, work activity, leisure time activity and physical activity performed) that are considered protective in countering age-related cognitive decline.
The research will involve data collection and evaluation of about 200 people aged between 65 and 80. The aim of this project is to identify correlations between these activities and then to analyse possible solutions to counteract rapid ageing.
